14 universities of Turkmenistan ranked in the world The Impact Rankings-2025

The seventh edition of the annual global impact ranking THE Impact Rankings-2025 includes 14 universities.
Turkmenistan, recognized by independent international experts of the British organization «Times Higher Education (THE)». THE Impact Rankings has been conducted since 2019 and is the leading global performance table in which universities are evaluated in achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) formulated by the Organization.

Turkmen State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering Institute, Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management, International University of Oil and Gas named after Ya.Kakayeva, Turkmen State Institute of Finance, Turkmen Agricultural University named after S.A.Niyazov, Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute named after Seyitnazar Seydi, State Medical University of Turkmenistan named after Myrat Garryev, Makhtumkuli Turkmen State University and Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after Satisfaction of Mehmet Azadi.
The Global Impact Rating defines and marks universities that demonstrate comprehensive excellence in contributing to global sustainable development. By succeeding in various SDGs, universities show their commitment to addressing the world's most pressing challenges, including economic sustainability, social inclusion, economic growth, and effective partnerships to achieve the SDGs.
The rating methodology combines scores on several SDGs to reflect the overall effectiveness and impact of universities. Each university provides data on SDG 17 (partnership to achieve goals) and at least three other SDGs. The final score of the university is determined on the basis of combining the score according to SDG 17 with the top three scores from the remaining SDGs. Turkmen universities included in THE Impact Rankings-2025 have shown active and effective participation in achieving almost all 17 SDGs. Among them are "Quality of Education", "Affordable and clean Energy", "Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure", "Gender equality", "Conservation of terrestrial ecosystems", "Health and well-being", "Clean water and sanitation", "Decent work and economic growth", "Sustainable cities and human settlements points", "Partnership to achieve goals" and other.
This year, 2,526 universities from 130 countries and territories are represented in the world ranking based on their progress in achieving The UN SDGs.
Every year, the number of universities wishing to join the reputable global ranking table THE Impact Rankings is increasing significantly. This fact reflects the desire to the universities of the world should make a worthy contribution to ensuring sustainable development and achieving the SDGs. By gaining worldwide recognition, Turkmenistan's universities are increasingly taking positions on the lines of THE Impact Rankings and other prestigious world rankings, which is striking evidence of the effectiveness of large-scale work in the country to implement the UN SDGs, as well as in the field of science and education in general.
The achievements of domestic universities in the international arena demonstrate the quality and level of their development, contribute
to solving one of the main tasks in the state to bring the national education system to the level of world standards and to join Turkmen universities among the leading higher schools in the world.
