Chinese partners will take part in a new stage of development of the largest natural gas field «Galkynyş»

The Chinese side has won an international tender for the development of the fourth stage of the large gas field «Galkynyş». This was announced by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov during an official meeting with the Chairman of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping.
In Beijing, during high-level negotiations, the agenda of interstate relations was discussed. The main focus was on the fact that China is a key foreign economic partner of Turkmenistan. Developing multifaceted cooperation, today the countries are focused on intensifying trade and investment ties, supporting industrial cooperation, partnerships between business circles, as well as creating joint ventures of various profiles, including high-tech ones.
The parties discussed cooperation in the gas industry as a strategic economic area, where the Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline, which has been successfully operating for over fifteen years, is a proven example.
Currently, Turkmenistan and China are working to further intensify cooperation in the gas sector, and specific results are being achieved in this area. In this context, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov announced that the Chinese side had won an international tender for the development of the fourth stage of the large «Galkynyş» gas field and congratulated Chairman Xi Jinping on this event.
The development of the «Galkynyş» gas field began in 2013. The field is one of the world's largest underground hydrocarbon reserves. Natural gas reserves here are estimated at 27.4 trillion cubic meters.
