The President of Turkmenistan received the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States
On March 27, 2024, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Kubanychbek Omuraliev.
K.Omuraliev expressed sincere gratitude for the time allocated for the meeting and the opportunity to take part in the events on the proclamation of the city of Anau as the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2024. In this regard, it was emphasized that the Organization attaches special importance to strengthening productive cooperation with our country, which has observer status in the Organization of Turkic States.
The President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that he was glad to welcome the head of the Organization to the ancient and hospitable Turkmen land, who took part in the events held the day before on the proclamation of the city of Anau as the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2024.
The further development of effective and constructive relations with the Turkic states occupies an important place in the foreign policy strategy of Turkmenistan, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized. One of the striking examples of this is the 15th meeting of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States, successfully held on March 11–12 in Ashgabat, at which agreements were reached and proposals were voiced to serve as a guideline for the further development of cooperation within the Organization.
It was also noted that the admission of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan to the Union of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Turkic Countries in the future would make it possible to effectively use this platform for the development of economic partnership between the member states of the Organization of Turkic States.
One of the topics of discussion was the celebration in our country of the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly Fragi, whose works are the property of the entire Turkic world. As noted, in this regard, numerous events are planned aimed at studying and disseminating the literary heritage of the great Turkmen poet.
As part of the interested exchange of views on the prospects for interaction in the OTS space, taking into account its solid potential, it was noted that expanding the range of programs and projects in various fields, and primarily in education, science and culture, will serve to successfully promote mutually beneficial interstate partnership, filling it specific content.
