Ashgabat hosts Days of culture of the Republic of Armenia

Today, the Mukam Palace of the State Culture Centre of Turkmenistan hosted a solemn ceremony of the opening of Days of culture of the Republic of Armenia in our country. The cultural event once again testified to the strengthening of bilateral cooperation.

Turkmenistan and Armenia throughout many years have successfully co-operated in many areas. They attach a special significance in this regard to the cultural-humanitarian sphere.

The given creative event organised in the year, which passes under the motto «The Fount of wisdom of Magtymguly Fragi», - one of the significant steps on the way of further rapprochement of two great cultures and people. The activities carried out in our country to study deeply the life and works of poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi have assumed a big support of authoritative international organisations and world countries.

Within his visit to our country for participation in the International Forum «Interrelation of times and civilisations - a basis of peace and development» President of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan during the meeting  presented as gift to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov a collection of poems of Magtymguly Fragi, translated into the Armenian language.

It is necessary to note that in the cultural-park complex «Magtymguly Pyragy» on the alley of famous poets-classics and thinkers representing different countries, the monument to the legendary Armenian poet and composer Sayat-Nova was established.

Representatives of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan and its subordinated establishments, wide public, mass media, workers of art and culture of our country, teachers and students of profile higher educational schools took part in the opening ceremony of Days of culture of the Republic of Armenia.

As participants of this evening marked, Turkmen and Armenian people share many common things in their history and mutual relations of today, which make up a humanitarian vector. In the arsenal of interaction of scientists and workers of art and culture of two countries - long-term joint work on study of the richest layer of history and culture of Turkmen and Armenian people, testifying to their ancient contacts.

In this context, the importance of big joint work carried out by scientists of two countries on study of the heritage of outstanding Turkmen poet-classic Magtymguly Fragi was marked, the 300th birthday anniversary of whom is widely marked in our country and beyond its limits.

Participants of the event expressed their huge gratitude to heads of two states - to President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan for the policy of peace, wide international cooperation, all round development of culture and art.

On completion of the official part, the concert of workers of culture and art of the friendly country took place. Its program included wonderful national melodies, songs, classical, and variety music, dancing compositions. Spectators met performances of actors with a noisy applause.

Fans of motion picture arts got a wonderful possibility to be acquainted with works of Armenian cinematographers created in different years. On the margins of Days of culture, residents of the capital enjoyed the show of films at the «Aşgabat» cinema and "Watan" movie theatre and concert hall.

Visitors from Armenia were offered an extensive cultural program, in which will familiarise with sights of the white marble coated capital and unique exhibits of its museums.
