In the context of ongoing efforts to further expand trade and economic ties between Turkmenistan and the Federal Republic of Germany, the Consulate of Turkmenistan in the FRG (Frankfurt am Main) organized the Days of Turkmenistan’s Economy in Frankfurt on 30–31 October 2025.

An official delegation from Turkmenistan, led by Deputy Prime Minister Nokerguly Ataguliyev, visited Germany from 29 October to 1 November 2025 to take part in the series of events.

The central Economic Forum, held on 30 October at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Frankfurt, brought together representatives from both public and private sectors to discuss opportunities across a wide spectrum of industries — including finance, healthcare, trade, transport and communications, energy, petrochemicals, agriculture, construction, and textiles.

More than 230 participants attended the Forum, among them 43 representatives from government ministries and agencies and 63 members of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan. The German delegation included around 120 participants representing over 80 companies, banks, chambers of commerce, industrial associations, and the Eastern Committee of the German Economy.

The programme featured four thematic sessions, each highlighting specific investment projects and areas for technological cooperation. The opening session included a short film presenting Turkmenistan’s economic achievements and its expanding investment potential.

In their opening remarks, Deputy Prime Minister N. Ataguliyev and Managing Director of the Eastern Committee of the German Economy Michael Harms emphasized the growing significance of Turkmen–German economic cooperation. They recalled the 2023 Berlin Business Forum, chaired by the National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, noting that the priorities defined at that event continue to guide the successful implementation of the bilateral Roadmap for cooperation.

Speakers throughout the sessions underlined the importance of fostering stronger investment partnerships and introducing advanced German technologies into Turkmenistan’s developing industries. They also expressed a shared commitment to expanding collaboration into new and innovative areas.

At the close of the Forum, participants exchanged views during a Q&A session, followed by a ceremony for the signing of bilateral agreements. In total, twelve documents were signed between Turkmen and foreign companies, formalizing the outcomes of the discussions.

Later in the day, B2B and B2G meetings provided a platform for direct dialogue between representatives of ministries, business organizations, and private companies. Around 40 intergovernmental and over 80 business-to-business meetings were held, resulting in concrete discussions on potential partnerships and joint projects.

On 31 October, in accordance with the Forum’s agenda, the Turkmen delegation visited several leading German institutions and enterprises.

Roundtable meetings were held at the Frankfurt Economic Development Agency on “Doing Business in Germany” and at the Aka-Ausfuhrkreditgesellschaft GmbH financial institution under the theme “Building the Future Together: Economic Dialogue between Turkmenistan and Germany.”

These sessions provided the Turkmen side with insights into Germany’s business environment, trade regulations, and investment climate. The discussions also covered topics such as export–import financing, support for small and medium-sized enterprises, and opportunities for new bilateral initiatives.

In addition, specialized Turkmen delegations toured the headquarters and production facilities of BASF and Wirtgen Group, gaining firsthand knowledge of German industrial operations and exchanging ideas on possible areas of cooperation.

The Days of Turkmenistan’s Economy in Frankfurt am Main marked a significant milestone in strengthening Turkmen–German relations. The event identified promising new avenues for collaboration, deepened mutual understanding, and reaffirmed both nations’ commitment to building a dynamic and forward-looking partnership.
