Meeting was held following the visit of experts of the WHO Regional Office for Europe

On July 15, 2020, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan following the visit to Turkmenistan of experts of the consultative-technical mission of the World Health Organization Regional Office for Europe and on the discussion of key vectors of cooperation in future.

The meeting was attended by the heads of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Healthcare and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan, as well as representatives of the WHO.

It is worth to recall that WHO/Europe mission arrived in Turkmenistan with the purpose to familiarize themselves and review ongoing activities in the country as part of preparedness and response measures in the case of COVID-19.

Speaking about strict observance of the WHO recommendations, the Turkmen side thanked the Organization’s representatives for close cooperation and confirmed their readiness to support its activities at the world level. In turn, the WHO/Europe mission told about the visit of two regions and the capital Ashgabat, as well as expressed gratitude to the Government of Turkmenistan for the excellent organization of the work of the delegation. 

The WHO representatives once again underlined the sufficient potential and resources of Turkmenistan for operational analysis of all the cases and taking of consistent timely measures. Also in the course of the meeting the representatives of WHO/Europe mission shared the outcomes of the work done in Turkmenistan.
