The business forum between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and the Joint Chamber of Commerce Switzerland-CIS/Georgia (JCC) was held

On October 21, 2021, at the initiative of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Swiss Confederation, an online business forum was organized between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and the Joint Chamber of Commerce Switzerland-CIS/Georgia (JCC).

From Turkmen side, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Swiss Confederation, as well as heads and representatives of several ministries and departments of Turkmenistan took part in the forum.

The Swiss side was represented by the Vice President of the Joint Chamber of Commerce Switzerland-CIS/Georgia, the Head of Division Europe and Central Asia, Bilateral Economic Relations of the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs, as well as representatives of about 40 Swiss companies specializing in oil and gas sector, energy, construction, architecture, mechanical engineering, railway construction and communications.

The main objective of the business forum, which was dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Independence of Turkmenistan, was to develop new solutions and approaches to realize the potential of bilateral cooperation and build up trade and economic relations between Turkmenistan and Switzerland.

The participants had an opportunity to review and analyze the bilateral economic and business activities, exchange views with representatives of government agencies and companies on the business environment, priority sectors of the economy, conditions for trade, investment and economic integration.

Particular attention is paid to increasing exports of national products of Turkmenistan, including enhanced cooperation of the country with Swiss companies specializing in oil and gas, textile industries, renewable energy, construction, transport and logistics.

According to the participants, this forum will give a new impetus to strengthening and expanding partnership between the two countries, built on a long-term and mutually beneficial basis.
