President of Turkmenistan received the head of the Austrian Foreign Ministry
On November 9, 2021, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received the Federal Minister for European and International Affairs of the Republic of Austria Michael Linhart, who has arrived in Ashgabat on a working visit.
Expressing sincere gratitude for the time he was given, the guest has conveyed to the Head of State warm greetings from the Federal President and Federal Chancellor of Austria.
Having thanked for the kind words and expressed reciprocal greetings and best wishes to the leadership of the Republic of Austria, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that cooperation between the two countries is also successfully developing within the framework of respected international organizations such as the UN, OSCE and other international organizations, including the intensified dialogue with the European Union in recent years.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the status and prospects of the Turkmen-Austrian partnership. The parties noted that there are great opportunities for diversifying the effective interaction in the trade and economic sphere. The activities of the Turkmen-Austrian Joint Commission and close contacts between business circles were highlighted. In this context, the industrial sector, energy, transport and other sectors of the economy were singled out as promising areas of partnership.
The active work of the Turkmen-Austrian Society, which runs the Internet site and publishes the magazine “Galkynysh”, the cross-cultural Days regularly held in Ashgabat and Vienna, performances by the joint symphony orchestra “Galkynysh”, the Vienna Ball in the Turkmen capital, as well as other creative activities are good examples of the fruitful cooperation between the sides in the cultural-humanitarian sphere.
During the meeting, the sides confirmed commitment of the two states to a constructive partnership in the framework of respected international organizations and coordination of efforts to ensure security and stability in the regional and global dimensions.
The meeting was also attended by Neda Berger, head of the Turkmen-Austrian Society.
