The President of Turkmenistan held a series of constructive meetings on the platform of the Istanbul High-Level Summit

On November 12, 2021, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held high-level talks on the platform of the VIII Summit of Heads of State of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States in Istanbul.

Further development and comprehensive strengthening of political and diplomatic interaction, intensification of cooperation in trade and economic sphere, as well as expansion of joint activities in scientific, educational, transport and logistic spheres have become the main topics of the current constructive conversation.

The leaders of the two brotherly countries emphasized that Turkmenistan’s accession to the Organization in the observer status is one of the most important events of the current Summit.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that our country has always treated activities of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States with great respect and interest based on the principles of permanent neutrality.

Also, on November 12, within the framework of the Summit, a meeting was held between President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov.

During the meeting, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic congratulated the President of Turkmenistan on joining this Organization in the status of observer. It was states stated that this event would be a significant step towards further expansion of mutually beneficial and long-term relations with all brotherly countries.

The leaders of the two countries also noted with satisfaction the positive dynamics of development of partnership on a bilateral and multilateral basis.

Reaffirming the readiness for further constructive dialogue, Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Sadyr Zhaparov exchanged views on current issues of regional and international agenda of mutual interest.
