THE CONFERENCE DEVOTED TO THE DAY OF TURKMEN DIPLOMATS WAS HELD IN ASHGABAT

On February 18, 2016, the conference, devoted to the Day of Turkmen Diplomats called "The history, the present and the future of the Turkmen diplomacy" was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The conference was attended by the heads of the ministries and departments of Turkmenistan, heads of diplomatic missions and representations of international organizations working in Turkmenistan, Turkmenistan's diplomatic service employees, teachers and students of higher educational institutions, as well as representatives of public organizations of our country. At the beginning of the conference a Congratulatory Address of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov addressed to the diplomatic workers on their professional holiday has been read. It had highlighted the efforts of our sovereign Motherland for the sake of world peace, security and sustainable development, which are widely supported by the international community. During the conference the speakers commented that the basis of the Turkmen diplomacy is the country's neutral status. Speaking of that the year of 2016 has been declared the "Year of honoring the heritage, transforming the Motherland", a historical perspective was made on the origins of diplomacy of Turkmenistan. It was noted that the principles of peacemaking of Turkmen diplomacy take its origins in the distant depths of centuries and are based on the rich heritage, national customs and traditions of our people. Within the framework of the conference awarding ceremony was held where distinguished young diplomats and students of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan were awarded by the Diplomas. Participants of the conference could also visit an exhibition of folk crafts and fine arts prepared by the Embassies and representations of international organizations working in Turkmenistan in the Foyer of the Institute. At the end of the conference, the participants adopted a thanking Address to the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, expressing deep appreciation for the constant attention to the issues of the diplomatic service of the country. Then there was a gala concert prepared by the student groups of higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan.
