«Mengli» represents national dance art in Hungary
At the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan held in Hungary, the national dance art is presented by artists of the State Dance Ensemble and the «Mengli» Dance Ensemble of the Palace of Mukams of the State Cultural Centre of the country.
The program of these groups includes choreographic compositions based on folklore motifs, popular Turkmen dances and dances of the peoples of the world. Their performances invariably cause sincere admiration and stormy applause from spectators in various countries where they perform.
The members of the «Mengli» dance ensemble are young girls, including students and senior pupils of comprehensive schools, who are passionate about the art of dance. Their performances are distinguished by the graceful elegance and plasticity of their refined movements, the charm and enthusiasm of youth. Bright and original costumes and traditional Turkmen jewellery add to the spectacle of the dances. The performances of this group give foreign audiences an idea of the diverse palette of modern Turkmen dance art, which has absorbed the best examples of original folk art and is a harmonious fusion of centuries-old and modern traditions.
The art of the artists of the dance ensemble «Mengli» is well known not only in Turkmenistan, where they have repeatedly become laureates of the national competition «Türkmeniň Altyn asyry». The group often takes part in international cultural events abroad, tours in cities of the near and far abroad. And participation in the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan in Hungary is another confirmation of this.
