Energy University of Turkmenistan invites students to the International Olympiad in Theoretical Mechanics

The State Power Engineering Institute of Turkmenistan will hold the IV Open International Internet Olympiad in the discipline "Theoretical Mechanics" among students of higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan and abroad.

All interested students are invited to participate in it, regardless of their specialty and year of study at universities. The Olympiad will be held in the form of individual and team competitions from March 10 to March 15 this year. Registration of participants is open on the Institute's website until March 5th.

No more than 10 students from each university can participate in an individual round, and 1 or 2 teams of up to 5 can participate in team competitions students. Teams can also be national teams made up of students from several universities.

The tasks of the individual and team Olympiads will be posted at the above address on the Institute's website on the day of the Olympiad.  8 tasks in theoretical mechanics sections have been prepared for the participants of the individual Olympiad. Two of them belong to the sections Statics and Kinematics, and 4 more - to the Dynamics section. The task takes 240 minutes to complete.

The participants of the team competition will have to solve 5 tasks in 60 minutes in the above-mentioned sections of theoretical mechanics. The students who scored the most points at the end of the competition will be declared the winners of the Olympiad.

The International Olympiad will be held in Turkmen, Russian and English. Talented students, representatives of the teaching staff of leading universities of Turkmenistan, as well as Russia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Romania, Turkey, China, the United Arab Emirates, Germany, Malaysia and other countries are expected to participate in the competition.

The Olympiad is held in order to strengthen friendly relations and exchange knowledge among students, organize joint scientific discussions with the participation of professors, teachers and university students, and train young specialists who are able to analyze and solve scientific and practical issues arising in industrial and research work.

The objectives of the event include developing and stimulating students' interest in scientific activities, solving theoretical problems using modern technologies, supporting and encouraging talented and gifted youth, and strengthening cooperation between universities and research centers in Turkmenistan and abroad.
