Turkmenistan ready to cooperate with Central Asian countries in electricity supply and innovation sector
Turkmenistan is open to aligning interests with Central Asian countries in the field of electricity supply and concrete partnership in the innovation sector. This was stated by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov at the second "Central Asia – Russia" Summit, held on October 9 in Dushanbe.
"We emphasize the importance of energy partnership. In this regard, we pay special attention to the electric power industry. We propose considering the alignment of interests in electricity supplies within our countries, as well as access to neighboring states and regions, primarily in the southern direction. We also expect closer cooperation on the use of renewable energy sources. I am confident that we have much to offer each other based on our existing joint experience, new competencies, and scientific and technological achievements," said the head of state.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov also placed particular emphasis on accelerating concrete partnerships in the innovation sector.
"There is no need to explain the significance of this in terms of internal development and international competitiveness. We are aware of and highly value Russia’s strategic course toward broad international cooperation in technology and innovation. In this context, we see wide prospects for cooperation within our format. We would like to begin practical collaboration, attracting on a mutually beneficial basis the innovative potential of our partners to our industrial sector, agriculture, urban development, and the creation of ‘smart’ cities," emphasized the President of Turkmenistan.
